9i果冻制作厂students understand the importance of hands-on learning and the value of internships, and that鈥檚 why senior Reagan Nemec has sought out internships since her first year as an engineering student.
Her first internship experience was at Honda of America Manufacturing the summer after her freshman year. Last summer she landed an internship with Nestle, the largest food company in the world, who then asked her back this summer with a job offer after graduation. Although Nemec doesn鈥檛 know if she will accept the offer, she has learned a lot during her time with the company.
鈥淢y professor introduced me to the internship initially and I was excited because it鈥檚 not just engineering. I get to work with scientists to create a delicious product and it鈥檚 a different type of work that I am getting experience with,鈥 said Nemec.
She is working with research and development at Nestle to help create new products by supporting the systems and machines in the facility. She has also been given the task of improving the cost optimization of the air conditioning unit, which will save energy and make Nestle more eco-friendly.
She said that there wasn鈥檛 any one class that has helped her the most throughout her internship experiences, rather it has been a collection of things she has learned in the engineering program related to time management, technical writing, working through hard problems and understanding systems.
鈥淚 feel really confident. 9i果冻制作厂has prepared me with a foundation that I can grow upon after graduation this year,鈥 said Nemec.
