Finals Caf茅 on November 30th

Ahead of finals, you may be looking for ways to study successfully and manage stress. The Library and Academic Support Center are here to help聽during Finals Caf茅, running from 6-9pm on 11/30. Stop by the first floor alcove at 6pm for a finals prep workshop with ASC's Kristy Drobney. The rest of the evening, the first floor will be a chill space to grab a beverage, study, talk with a librarian, or take a break with coloring sheets, LEGOs, and鈥�Reading Diversely Book Club to Discuss “Season of Love” on November 28th

The Courtright Memorial Library's Reading Diversely Book Club will be meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at 6pm on the second floor of the library to discuss this semester's pick, Season of Love by Helena Greer. The Reading Diversely Book Club is open to all; you don't need to have attended previous meetings to participate. Just read the book and join us! This program is INST approved and CardsSTANDTogether approved. Season of Love is a holiday romance in the vein of鈥�Return of Zines 101 on November 8th!

The library ran its first Zines 101 program last year, and it proved so popular we're bringing it back on November 8th at 6pm in the Lower Level Lab! Need a break from studying and want to exercise your creativity?聽 Join us to learn about聽zines聽and use the art supplies we'll provide to make your own!聽聽Zines聽are a fun way to express yourself, and the possibilities for what to create are endless.聽 We hope to see you there! Through this story light will be shed on the nonprofit, the Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio (NAICCO), and its important role in Ohio as the only viable urban Indian center in the state. This session will take place on November 7th at 4pm in Library 118. Focus areas will include: NAICCO Cuisine, Land Back NAICCO, the people who personify NAICCO鈥檚 mission and vision work, a general overview of what it means to be Native American in today鈥檚 day鈥�Q&A with Abdi Nor Iftin on October 23rd

The Friends of 9i果冻制作厂's Courtright Memorial Library are pleased to host this year's Common Book author, Abdi Nor Iftin, on Monday, October 23rd for a moderated Q&A. This event is free and open to the public. The program will begin at 7:30pm on the second floor of the library. Dr. Colette Masterson, Associate Director of New Student Transitions, will moderate the Q&A. The Q&A will be followed by the author portrait reveal, book signing, and a reception. On October 19th at 6pm in LIB 011, learn about the ancient Japanese art of paper marbling, known as suminagashi! You'll learn a little about the history of this technique and you'll have an opportunity to make your own marbled paper. It鈥檚 a magical time of year, and the library has just the program for you! Mathemagics will take place on October 4th at 6:30pm, in LIB 118. During Mathemagics, Dr. Jeff Smith of the Mathematics Department will walk you through a series of mathemagical tricks, including mental telepathy, making matter disappear, and a card trick that will astound your friends. The library will be hosting its annual Constitution Day celebration on September 14th, 2023, from 11:30am to 1pm. This is a hands-on exploration of the Constitution 鈥� you鈥檒l take a look at the document, find the parts you find the most interesting, important, or confusing, and write them out 鈥� on the library windows!
